Ton for Charlotte

Charlotte Boulton showed some real class with an unbeaten 109 against Southport & Birkdale in the Northern League.
Sue Haley kept her company for much of it with a patient 56. Bradford went on to win by 77 runs.

7/06/2007

Special Kay

Kay Andrews returned her best bowling figures for Bradford with a "5 for" in Sunday's win against Leeds University.
She opened the bowling and took 5 wickets for just 9 runs in her first spell.

13/05/2007

First win for 2nds

The 2nd team got their first win under their belts against York Ladies at Thornbury.
They were raring to go against Pool the following week, but the game was a wash out with only 5 overs played.

1/05/2007

Summer's here!?

The 2nd team got their season under way with a home game against a good young side from Beverley.
Despite a good all round team performance, Bradford lost, but the game was played in a friendly, competitive spirit and everyone enjoyed their first
run out of the season
Better luck on Sunday against York.

New Captain for 1st XI

The 1st team have a new captain this season.
Helen Wardlaw (Wardy) was elected captain at the AGM in February, and as a former Yorkshire and England player has the experience
and drive to help Bradford Ladies meet their full potential.

Special thanks were given by all at the AGM to Sue for her many years of toil for Bradford, hopefully she can now relax
and enjoy her cricket without the cares of captaincy.

Yorkshire under 17s are county champions

Bradford players Katy Wilman and Charlotte Preston can lord it over the rest of us after Yorkshire under 17's win over Kent
in the County Championship final at Loughborough.
Congratulations to the Yorkshire girls and their management team.

18/08/2006

Good luck girls....

Good luck to Bradford girls Katy Wilman and Charlotte Preston who are part of the Yorkshire under 17s squad who have made it
through to the County Championship final.
Congratulations are also due to Bradford's captain Sue Haley who is the Under 17s manager.

The team play Kent at Loughborough on 10th September. Come on Yorkshire!!

18/08/2006

Another one bites the dust....

Premier league club Wakefield are the latest women's team in the north to throw in the towel and fold.

After struggling for a few seasons to get eleven to take the field, and only avoiding the drop last season due to another Premier league club folding,
they finally called it a day.
It's another blow for women's cricket in the North to see a long established club disappear, whilst the Midlands and South go from strength to strength.

25/07/2006

The girl's got class....

Shivanie Patel seemed to be in a hurry to finish the game when she blew away the Pool middle order on Sunday with a superb hat trick.

She bowled 6 overs for just 16 runs, clean bowling all 3 wickets.

27/06/2006

Come on Bradford....

After a turbulent winter and start to the season, with a lot of players moving clubs, we knew this season would be spent rebuilding.
As the 1st team's poor run continued with a very close game against Durham we can take heart from improving performances
and a good team spirit.

Despite losing to Leeds University, the 2nd team are going from strength to strength, enjoying their cricket and welcoming
a number of new and promising players.

27/05/2006

Bring me sunshine....

So far, due to the wettest drought on record, out of a possible 5 fixtures we've only managed to complete 2 and one of those was rain affected.
Lets hope that with the arrival of June (the month, not our very own June), we'll get some sunshine.

25/04/2006

Champagne Suey

Thanks to Sue Haley and the Bradford and Bingley Building Society, for their donation of £100, plus champagne and gift vouchers which we received, in recognition of all the hard work Sue puts into the club.
We'll be raffling them during the season to raise funds.

17/04/2006

Thanks Dave

Thanks to Dave Wilman and the Royal Bank of Scotland for the £250.00 we received as part of their Community Cashback scheme. More

Player's Averages

Averages for 2005 are now on the website under Player Stats.

It was a very disjointed and frustrating season, particularly for the senior players, with long gaps between matches and the averages reflect this. Look if you dare!

Betty Mayes 1930 - 2005

Unfortunately we have to announce the sad news of the death of our Club President and friend Betty Mayes. She died after a short illness on 20th September 2005 aged 75.

She was our oldest and longest serving member having been involved with Bradford as player and supporter for most of her life. Betty will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by everyone at the club. Anyone with stories or memories of Betty can email them to the website where we'll publish a memorial page.

12/09/2005

England win the Ashes!!

England's men followed the women in a fantastic summer of international cricket and regained the ashes from Australia

Congratulations to both England teams.

Lady Taverners National Final

Bradford's girls made the trip to Stowe in Buckinghamshire to compete for the first time in the National final of this competition.

Unfortunately it was a step too far this year, but maybe next year!

17/07/2005

Juniors shine

Caroline Middleton showed some real class with her first 50 opening the batting for the 1st team against Southport. She played a very mature innings and made 63.

Holly Richardson made a personal best unbeaten 91 in Bradford II's win against Denby Dale.

Let's hope there'll be lots more runs to come from these two.

17/07/2005

Under 15s make finals of Lady Taverners Tournament

Bradford's under 15s came second at the regional final of the Lady Taverners 8-a-side competition.

This was good enough to take them to the national finals in August. Well done girls!

01/06/2005

Under 15s win Lady Taverners Tournament

Bradford's under 15s won the Lady Taverners regional 8-a-side tournament.

Unfortunately, due to continuous rain no matches could be played and the winning team had to be decided on a bowl out. With only 7 players in the team the Bradford girls bowled superbly and won with more than twice the next highest score. They'll go on to play in the Yorkshire final in Sheffield on 17th July.

15/05/2005

Three 50s in One Day!

Three Bradford players scored half centuries this weekend.

June Stephenson scored 54 in the 1st team's win over Lancashire League, which was the latest in many big scores for the club.

On the same day, two of Bradford's younger players scored maiden half centuries for the Development team against York. Caroline Middleton was unbeaten on 64 and Joanne Wood is probably one of our youngest players to score 50 at just 13 years old.

28/04/2005

Outdoor Practice starts this week!

Outdoor Practice starts this week at Thornton Cricket Ground on Friday nights from 6:30pm onwards, weather permitting.
